Hana Race Saturday at CD.
I now realize nothing was put on this BBS about the race this week. I was on the road all week and assumed someone from HANA would put something here as they have in the past. My fault for assuming. I did get the email from HANA announcing the race and another reminder email. I hope most of you got those. It looks like the results yesterday were pretty positive and probably our best day so far. A conservative estimate was about $40,000.
Some of you may know, however for those who do not, we have formed another forum for open discussion and to use as another vehicle to distribute information devoted to this project. This site is used only for that purpose. The address is below and it is free through yahoo.
handletalks@yahoogroups.com
You click on (join the group) and simply create a screen name similar to this site. You will also create a yahoo email which is required. However, you do not have to use it. Once you sign up with an screen name and password, you can then designate any other email address you have as your primary one. Once this is done, you will receive all information via email about what is going on with the project. You can also participate in the forum discussion as much or as little as you like. Ross Gallo is the moderator of the forum.
One thing we did yesterday was ask all participants to write in and tell us how much they bet and what types of bets they made. It will help us in the future in tracking our group and the impact we have. Most everyone did so. It also allows you to voice your opinions about the weekly race and make suggestions. Ross and I welcome all discussion. We obviously are still growing this thing and have been going through a trial and error period in day of week, track and race selection. Many of the members have come up with some good ideas that HANA, Ross and myself are looking at for future weeks.
I encourage each of your to join the group and again, I apologize for the lack of posting on this site about the race yesterday. I will make sure it does not happen again.
Sincerely,
Mike Mayo

Wanted to report in on the success of the past two weeks at Mth. It looks like from the numbers (that Bill and Dean at HANA compiled) this little project is starting to get on a roll. Last weeks race shows about an $80 grand impact and this past Saturday (even with the slop) looks like we could have topped the $100 grand figure for the first time. It is still a little difficult to come up with an actual figure (we are working on that). We are using past data history and race by race comparisons of handle on the day we actually bet. Considering this is only our 7th race to bet as a group (skipping the triple crown weeks) and with some of the bumps along the way this is quite remarkable. I did not think we could get this big this quick. Obviously we still have a long way to go to influence the MAGNA and CD tracks but it is definitely a start. We have been well received at all tracks.
Our next project is to work on the ADW's since most of this money is being bet through them. HANA is currently working on an ADW grading system similar to the track grades. We hope to have this done in a few weeks. We then hope to go to some of these ADW's and perhaps get some perks. We also hope to have them help us track our handle.
Also, I wanted to encourage everyone to join the handletalks@yahoogroups.com. This is a separate BBS (similar to HTR) to exchange info and ideas. You can join and receive most of the info. If you do not want to read all of the emails then just screen them through your email setup on your individual computer.
I will report back on this weekends race. We are probably going to stick to Saturdays since that seems to be where we have the most success. Track selection is still a little tricky but we are working real hard to accomodate everyone (ADW) being able to bet.
Again, thanks for the support and lets keep this thing moving.
Sincerely,
Mike Mayo

POOL PARTY SAT ARLINGTON
Wanted to let everyone know the race this Saturday is the 9th at Arlington Park. It is a wide open 5 furlong turf race. We have also gotten some good PR from Joe Kristofek who writes for Chicago papers on horseracing. Also, Rich Nielson at Twin Spires has put us on their website. This thing is starting to really take off. Getting lots of good PR. Thanks for all of the support and good luck on Saturday

Wanted to let everyone know that the HANA race this week is the 9th at ELLIS PARK. It is 100K stakes race on the grass with 10 horses scheduled to go. We all know about the bad situation at ELP and with KY racing in general. Racings good friend Ron Geary has had a tough time since he purchased the track a few years ago. Lets all pitch in and give a good showing this week. The race is a good competitive grass affair with many noteable trainers shipping in. It should offer a good betting opportunity.
Good Luck this weekend.
